I have made this particular blanket in two different ways. The first time was as a double crochet blanket (2nd pic), and while I loved how it turned out, I love the C2C version even more. Sorry, I never did write out the pattern for the double crochet version, but the graph is available through the link below if you would like to try for yourself.
The pattern begins in the bottom right corner with colour A. (Colour B
is the heart)
Approximately 1900 yards of yarn in worsted weight (4)-- I used Red Heart Comfort for both blankets -- using a 5.00mm
hook and a chain 5 start. Chain 2 at the start of each block instead of chain 3
for a tighter weave blanket. Original knitting graph can be found HERE.

Finished blanket with border is approximately 52" x 42"

I love it! Thank you for the pattern!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I'm so happy someone else will enjoy it, lol I really appreciate you letting me know 😊 Thank you
DeleteWhich row begins the decrease?
ReplyDeleteit looks like this is rectangle and the decreases start on row 52 and 70
DeleteSarah has it absolutely correct! Thank you 😊
Deletei'm doing the pattern exactly, i've checked and rechecked but i'm on row 37 and it is not looking at all like the picture. i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, sorry for the late reply. At row 37 you should have the bottom points of each half of the heart. It's a little odd looking at first, but it should be fine as you continue. The solid side of the heart makes large leaps in the colour changes, while the hollow side of the heart is much more gradual. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Do you have a picture?
DeleteHi Sarah, it seems to me there is something wrong with your written instructions. Row 1 has 1 block, Row 2 has 2 blocks Row 3 has 3 blocks and so on. So then Row 32 should have 32 blocks. However in your instructions Row 32 has 33 blocks if you add the 7A, 1B and 25A.

DeleteI'd like to know the answer to the above question, too. Are the row numbers off? thank you! I cannot wait to get to work on this. It's going to be a wedding present for a cousin.
ReplyDeleteIt should read 1 - 32, then 32 becomes 33, 33 becomes 34, and so on. I will correct this asap!
DeletePlease correct... I was at the same point on row 32 and notice the mistake is still there. Had to frog a whole row out. Should have read the comments first before starting. :/
DeleteJust started on Sunday!! One of my goals of eight blankets by Christmas!! Love the way it's coming along! Thank you! p.s. I read the comments before starting!!
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern- thank you, would you explain row 34
ReplyDeleteafter i do 7-A, DO I do 1-B,1-A then continue, please help
The link to the border is in Spanish. Can you link me to an English version?
ReplyDeleteI'm new doing graphs so on row 32 7a means first 7 in white 1b means the eighth square in black and next 25 in white is this correct?
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if you had fixed the mistake? I'm currently doing this pattern and according to your instructions above row 32 still has 33 total
ReplyDeleteI am going to follow your graph so I can do this in DC. What I would like to know is how many stitches to start? I could only 45, that doesn't seem like a big blanket. Am I wrong in the count?
ReplyDeleteAngela
I could be wrong, but in thinking about your question I believe the blanket is 53 blocks wide but each block is 3 DC plus the chain so maybe multiply the 53 blocks by 3 or 4 to get a base stitch count. 53 x 4 = 212. Hope this helps.

ReplyDeleteHi I'm just starting your heart blanket and I'm on row 32, is there a mistake here there are 33 blocks for this row. If I follow this it does not it right. Should I add one more row of color A and change the number of rows? Love this pattern making as a wedding gift
ReplyDeleteI'm new to crotchet and am wondering what "C2C" means - as I cannot see any instructions on the actual stitch being used for this pattern, I assume that is what it means... but I don't know what it is... thanks!
ReplyDeleteRow 79 has 6A, 11B, 20B and 7A. I was wondering if the 20 B should be in the A color or we are just suppose to do 31 in the B color?
